Czech Republic – Folklore Treasure in Heart of Europe Exhibition

 

The Czech Republic – Folklore Treasure in Heart of Europe Exhibition by Jarmila Mrnuštíková was opened in the Vršac City Museum on Monday, 20th July.

The exhibition was organised as part of the Month of Czech Culture in Serbia festival. The project received financial support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic and the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Serbia. The cultural, artistic and educational association from Vršac, Češka beseda, organised this vivacious exhibition of a part of the rich cultural heritage of the Czech Republic.

 

Ethnologist Vesna Stankov greeted the guests on behalf of employees of the Vršac City Museum, expressing her satisfaction with the fact that a part of the project which contributes to strengthening ties between the two peoples by means of promoting the Czech cultural heritage is taking place at the Museum.

 

Jozef Seifert, representative of the Ústecký Region of the Czech Republic presented the region he came from to the guests, through a story on tradition, business and economy. He shared his satisfaction with the visitors of the exhibition with regard to the agreed concrete arrangements on continuation of economic and cultural cooperation with the Municipality of Vršac.

 

After that, Mrs Jitka Dolejšová, Head of the České Středohoří International Folklore Festival, also invited the guests to see the exhibition. Mrs Dolejšová is also a member of the Praška Frajerka band, which performed before the Vršac audience at the City Square a few days earlier.
